Yes! It's been on my radar for a while though I don't think I've posted anything about it yet - at least, I haven't decided on a tag for the production.

Honestly, going by my usual tagging system it should probably be '2024 pac' or '2024 nyc' but. For these guys. I sort of want to name it after its most prominent attribute which is. '2024 ballroom' 😌

Anyway have a promo clip, from their official insta, and some random cast photos out of costume.

(We don't have a lot of costume photos yet but we do know that these Jellicles will be fully humans, not feline: they are people existing within the ballroom cultural milieu of the period and 'jellicle cats' is just the pride name they use for themselves and each other. So if you strongly prefer your cats as cats, this might not be the show for you—but it's certainly a show that speaks to somebody else!)

(Also I'm just really enjoying the flurry of excitement from former Jellicles in comments on this production's posts.)

Sharing my opinions on various Rum Tum Tugger ships because I have them

Tugger x Bomba: the OGs. Icons. Bi4Bi t4t annoying4annoying together4ever. Love them forever and ever. This too is yuri

Tugger x Misto: LOVE to see it! Don’t like how Some People want them to fit into the most basic boring prepackaged Netflix rom com gay “relationship dynamic”. They’re little freaks. Oh also this too is yuri

Tugger x Alonzo: I just find it kinda boring? Seems like ppl just took two of the “conventionally attractive” (in air quotes bc. They are ppl in cat makeup and spandex) male characters and put them together. No chemistry IMO

Tugger x Plato: I didn’t care for it at first but now I can see the merit (esp in the 1998 movie) . I’m a huge platoria sucker though so I like interpreting it as Plato and Victoria bonding over a massive crush on Tugger (a hc that I’ve heard from others too)

Tugger x Victoria: see above

Tugger x Demeter: I think it has interesting possibilities, story-wise, but they just don’t seem compatible at all. Anxiety personified x king of disasters seems bound to break.

Tugger x Munkustrap: I tend to see them as brothers, but sometimes I see art or smth that I enjoy. IIRC a handful of actors have played into this headcanon or referenced it. Lots of humor potential

Tugger x Grizabella: I don’t hate it but like, I don’t like to ship Grizabella with anyone bc that’s not what her story is about. That being said Tugger would 100% have a may/december romance

Tugger x Skimbleshanks: speaking of may/december, idk where I saw this but it was drawn as a crack ship by someone? And I actually love it I think the idea of these two together is hilarious but also kinda sweet :)

Tugger x Jennyanydots: similar to skimbleshanks in concept, but onstage I always feel like they have more of a familial relationship. Ik in the revival choreo Jenny has that fainting moment so I can see where it comes from

Tugger x Mungojerrie or Rumpleteazer: meh I guess I can see it but like there are so many better options?

Tugger x Etcetera: nope nope nope nope absolutely no.

15. Munkujerrie!!! I thought of it during work today, (when I was *actually* supposed to be doing my job), and it hasn’t left my head since then…I fluctuate on ships like the needle on a ghost meter, but ughhhh the potential……plus it would also be really really funny. Barbie x Ken activities. Also the way the colors work together?????? Like aughhh the more I think about it the more it drives me insane. While it’s not my Munkustrap specific ship, I’ve only known of Munkujerrie for a day and a half, but if anything happened to them, I’d throw a temper tantrum.

25, OKAY SO: I actually saw Cats live when I was in middle school and I LITERALLY REMEMBER ALMOST NONE OF IT MAKES ME SO MAD. WTF. The first thing that I remembered is durning the Addressing of Cats I kept whispering at Tugger telling him to ‘go stand next to his boyfriend’ (literally knew nothing about the musical at the time. How did I do that (I was talking about Misto btw)). THE SECOND THING I REMEMBERED is that Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer’s song was my favorite in the entire show. It’s the only one I looked up when I got home. They were my absolute favorite for an entire week I was rly like ‘these silly thieving motherfuckers I love them so so much.’ Mungojerrie and his stupid crop top <333 their double cartwheel was the coolest thing I’d literally ever seen. 10/10 no notes. Best first impression ever. And now??? Still love him. He’s so silly, and his accent drives me insane. Mungojerrie you will forever be famous <333
